Anna was platted in 1883 with a population of 20 people. A short time later, the railroad built a depot and Anna started growing. Today Anna has a population of 16,896 people per the 2020 census.
We reviewed every new Anna neighborhoods for inclusion on our list and our results are in no particular order. Have fun reading this article and we'd love to hear your opinion at the end of the article in the comments section.
The Villages of Hurricane Creek is a very new neighborhood as of Dec 2021. As the first neighborhood on the west of Hwy 75, this neighborhood is starting off right. With green spaces, a clubhouse, swimming pool, and boasting creeks, ponds, and parks. Hurrican Creek even has hiking and biking paths and even a community garden. Rumor is that there will be a fire station and school in the neighborhood.
Who is building in The Villages of Hurrican Creek:
Anna Town Square is finishing out soon and so you better act fast to build your dream home on one of their wide 60' lots in this 600 acre master planned community in the heart of Anna Texas.
You will find a slower pace and a friendly atmosphere here with an on-site elementary school, swimming pools, shade areas, and barbeque grills.

Park Place in Anna Texas is being built by Cambridge Homes and has beautiful homes and a secluded feel. The neighborhood has rolling hills and a tree lined creek with walking trails. The lots are a nice size at 60' x 120' and they are ready to help you build your dream home.

Shadowbend in Anna Texas is being built by LGI Homes. Shadowbend offers kid friendly amenities like: a soccer field, swimming pool, a playground and lots of green spaces. With 140 acres in the first few phases they estimate it will contain 465 residential lots and 23 open space lots.

West Crossing in Anna is located just 10 miles north of McKinney, off of Highway 75 and FM 455. This beautiful neighborhood boasts a clubhouse that offers a fitness room, lounge, and a kids playroom. With a large swimming pool, a kiddie splash pool, and plenty of shaded seating areas the summer will be a splash.
