Mustang Lakes Joins Celina's November Race Calendar, With the Start Line on Roseland Parkway

October 15, 2026

Run Celina has three events in Celina between Nov. 7 and Nov. 26, 2026. The first is a ruck march at Old Celina Park. The last is a Thanksgiving morning Turkey Trot downtown. The middle one, the first Mustang Lakes Harvest Run, starts at 2682 Roseland Pkwy, inside the neighborhood. For Mustang Lakes households, one of the city's fall races is now on trails they can walk to from home.

The race is Saturday, Nov. 21, about six weeks from today. The early registration price runs out first, at 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 31. That's three weeks away.

Three events in twenty days, one at home

The organizer is Run Celina, which calls itself a veteran-owned company founded in 2022. It puts on professionally organized races and also offers chip timing. Its current race list covers most of November.

Date Event Location Notes
Sat., Nov. 7, 2026 Veterans Day Ruck March Old Celina Park, 12670 FM-428 Billed as a Celina Police Department event
Sat., Nov. 21, 2026 Mustang Lakes Harvest Run 2682 Roseland Pkwy 5K, 8 to 10 a.m.
Thu., Nov. 26, 2026 Celina Turkey Trot Downtown Celina, 127 N. Ohio St. Thanksgiving morning

The Harvest Run is two weeks after the ruck march and five days before the Turkey Trot. That makes it the one event in the stretch that doesn't fall on a holiday and doesn't require a drive. Anyone planning to do the Turkey Trot with family on Thanksgiving can treat the Harvest Run as a warm-up on home trails. The Turkey Trot goes through the Downtown Celina square, so it's a separate morning with its own parking to plan around.

What $42.50 gets you on Nov. 21

The RunSignup listing has one event, a 5K, from 8 to 10 a.m. The listing promises:

  • Finisher medals and custom bibs
  • Chip timing, with awards
  • First through third place, male and female, overall and masters
  • First through third place, male and female, in eight age groups: 14 and under, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over

The price goes up in two steps:

  1. Sept. 1 through Oct. 31 at 11:59 p.m. CDT: $42.50 plus a $3.55 RunSignup fee
  2. Nov. 1 through 8 a.m. on race day: $45 plus a $3.70 fee

Waiting until November costs $2.65 more per person. For a family of four, that's about the price of a coffee. The age groups start at 14 and under, so kids can win their own medals instead of racing adults for overall places. The organizer says the race works for "runners, walkers, strollers, and neighbors," so strollers are allowed on the course.

The course runs on trails you already know

Run Celina hasn't posted a turn-by-turn map. The listing describes the route this way:

Participants will enjoy a course that winds along the trails and around the lakes, offering a mix of natural scenery and community energy.

The developer's description of the neighborhood shows what the course has to work with. The Mustang Lakes amenities page lists 18 miles of trails, a five-acre stocked lake with an island, a fishing deck, and bridges. The Club at Mustang Lakes sits at the center, with a 20-acre park, a private lake and an island. More than 60 acres of the community are set aside as open space, and Wilson Creek forms the western border.

The numbers matter. A 5K is about 3.1 miles, so the course will use only a small share of the 18-mile network. Run Celina had a lot of route options, and anyone who walks these paths daily can probably guess roughly where the course will go. The developer's October 2026 site plan labels hike-and-bike trails and pocket parks but doesn't name or measure individual loops. That plan is also marked as an artist's illustration subject to change.

The 18-mile figure is recent. A 2023 developer article put the trail system at nearly 10 miles. The network has roughly doubled in three years, and that growth is what gives a race director enough loops to build a course.

The second race at Roseland Parkway this year

The Harvest Run is billed as the first one, but it isn't the first race at this address. A separate Mustang Lakes 5K was listed for Saturday, April 25, 2026, also at 2682 Roseland Pkwy. The April listing doesn't name an organizer, so it isn't clear whether Run Celina ran both.

Either way, two timed races at the same start line, one in spring and one in fall, look like the start of a twice-a-year schedule. The Harvest Run listing invites people to "be part of a new Mustang Lakes tradition" and to spend the morning "with the Run Celina community." Run Celina has kept its races going before. RunSignup shows its Celina 5K continuing into January 2025, two years after the first one in January 2023.

For a look at how The Club's grounds took shape before any of this, our piece on what's actually original at The Club at Mustang Lakes traces the old Twin Eagles Farms pieces still in use today.

What's on the neighborhood calendar before race day

The weeks before Nov. 21 are already busy. The public preview of the Mustang Lakes resident portal currently shows:

  • Cocktail 101, Oct. 13, 6:30 to 8 p.m., already marked sold out
  • Zumba on the Island, Oct. 24, 9 to 10 a.m., with RSVP requested
  • A Holiday Lighting Reminder posted Oct. 7, which residents have to log in to read

Zumba on the Island is on a Saturday morning, four weeks before the race. The holiday lighting post went up in the first week of October, about seven weeks before the Turkey Trot. The details are behind the login, but anyone planning lights will want to read it before the November calendar fills up.

What the listing hasn't said yet

The race page leaves a few things out, and people registering now should know which ones:

  • No course map. The route is described only as trails, lakes and green space.
  • No packet pickup details, named charity or listed sponsors. None appear on the RunSignup page.
  • Two different time windows. RunSignup lists race hours of 8 to 10 a.m. A listing on AllEvents gives 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Neither listing explains the difference, and RunSignup is the platform that takes registrations.
  • Start and finish aren't separated. The listing gives one address, 2682 Roseland Pkwy, for the whole event.

The race page has a contact form, and that's the fastest way to get any of these answered before Nov. 21.
