North Texas Cities Are Growing Fast

Brent Wells October 7, 2024

The U.S. Census Bureau states that North Texas is home to 5 of the 15 fastest growing cities in the United States. Why Is North Texas Growing So Fast?

If you ask 10 local real estate agents, you are likely to get 11 different answers. Most of them will probably give you a list that includes a couple of the following reasons:

  • The economy
  • The weather
  • Local schools
  • Low crime rates
  • Friendly people

The 400 pound jalapeño in the room is our ability to be friends with our neighbors that may have different political opinions from our own. We as a nation, seem to have lost that ability. The good news is Texas seems to still offer that friendly environment.

Do We Have Room?

Yup, we do. Here is a simple example. Collin County Texas is host to many of our most dynamic cities and encloses 840 square miles of land. We don't have an accurate estimate on how much land has been current developed, but 83% of Texas land is part of a forest, ranch, or farm.

The short answer is we have a massive amount of land yet to be developed and it extends all the way up to Oklahoma!

Welcome To Texas Y'all!

Whatever the reason folks have for moving, we are happy to welcome them to Texas. Heck, you might even make a new friend in the grocery store checkout line and get invited to a family BBQ. Just remember BBQ is smoked, not grilled and we don't put beans in chili.
